The Temblast Database Substitution Program (DBSubst) is a general purpose utility for transforming a template using data accessed from a database into generated files.
The possible applications of DBSubst is wide. It can be used to generate web pages, reports, batch files, configurations, etc. Just look around for files on your systems that must be updated constantly by hand. Migrate the actual data involved to a real database (which could be as simple as a text list), then allow DBSubst to generate a new version of the desired file whenever the data changes. This will open up opportunities to have the data sorted different ways, grouped or filtered. The possibilities are endless.
