The details dialog is used to individually configure each pane. Currently there is no provision for saving any manual changes! This is partially due to the problems of keeping the pane details as reported by the HTTP interface synchronized. Permanent changes are best done using the database interface. Manual changes are best used for test purposes on panes that are not being viewed by other people.
